NYC has the best engagement photo locations
I never knew this cool little park existed near the top of Manhattan. Literally for years, I’d never even heard of it. To my surprise, one of my wedding couples asked if we could do their engagement portraits at Fort Tryon Park. That was way back in 2006, and I’ve been visiting and revisiting this place ever since for all types of portrait fun.
You’ll find a little of everything at Fort Tryon Park
Many years later with Lindsey and Roland, I was still discovering cool little areas at this park. And as you can see, the scenery is super diverse. It has lush greenery and a plethora of flowers, stone walkways and arches. And I really love the beautiful, unique architectural structures. Some of it looks almost ancient. It’s amazing!
Fort Tryon Park is a hidden gem
Another great thing about going to Fort Tryon Park for your engagement session is that it’s not too crowded. I don’t mind a few random park-goers in the background but I don’t like super populated parks at the typically crowded times. Fort Tryon Park is so far away from most of the subways and tourist attractions that only people who know and love this park make the trip.
Fort Tryon Park Engagement
Another great thing about Fort Tryon Park is that it’s easily accessible by car. Many areas in Manhattan are near 1 or 2 different subway lines but parking can be tricky. For their engagement session, Lindsey and Roland drove up from Philly and had no trouble crossing over the GW Bridge and finding parking.
