How to pick your wedding day colors

Don’t be afraid of color!

Colors provide endless possibilities to create a mood, express your individuality, reflect the seasonal palette, and so much more.

But one thing I want to stress is that colors are fun! Don’t be afraid to play with them.

Now remember the color wheel? You probably first encountered it during an art class long, long ago. The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. The secondary colors are orange, green and purple. So get this: the complementary colors are the two colors that are exactly opposite one another on the color wheel. One is a primary color and the other is a secondary color. So these colors always work beautifully together: red and green, yellow and purple, blue and orange. And to make it even more fun, you can play with the tones of each color. Pink and green. Yellow and lilac. Blue and peach. You get it? And another cool way to play with color is to use the analogous colors. Those are the colors right next to each other on the color wheel. Think of yellow and green; or red and purple….

So as you plan your wedding, think about the color wheel.
