Portrait Tip: Makeup | Brooklyn Portrait Photographer

Makeup should at least define your eyes and lips.

So wearing eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick are essential. Some women are very skilled with their makeup. Obviously, go about it however you feel comfortable. Some of my clients go to MAC or their favorite department store makeup counter and actually get their makeup done for the portraits. Others do it themselves.

Don’t feel like you need “high drama” in the makeup–just know that in photographs, a face looks more flat, more round, and less defined than in-person. And well-applied makeup combined with my photography skills, bring back the natural, defined contours of your face.
