Unique Engagement Session Idea

An engagement session is totally clutch, in my opinion. It accomplishes so much that gives ease and comfort in front of the camera on the wedding day. And don’t forget, your unique engagement session is the perfect opportunity to do something that’s totally you and fun. You can be as cutesy, or as off-beat, or as traditional, or as ethnic or as fashion-y as you want. Let it be a moment to let loose 🙂 Over and over again, I’ve seen my couples reap the benefits of planning their engagement session. Well this couple had the most unique engagement session idea to date. They used photos to name the tables at their wedding reception instead of table numbers 🙂

Iconic NYC engagement location ideas

They both have such a love for NYC, they really wanted to include NYC in their wedding day. I love how real New Yorkers relate to the city! So we had this extended engagement session covering multiple locations in three different boroughs. We started in Times Square and went to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, Staten Island Ferry, Staten Island, and DUMBO. It was incredible capturing all of these wonderful locations while creating such a unique engagement session.

Staten Island Ferry and DUMBO engagement ideas

Since I have a love for the water, I’d ridden the Staten Island Ferry just for fun multiple times. When we started planning their unique engagement session, I knew the ferry would be a great idea. And look at this! We rode over to Staten Island, they changed into some cute “I Love NY” t-shirts, we took some photos in Staten Island, then rode the ferry back. Then we just took a quick subway ride over to DUMBO for some nighttime shots. It was all so perfect. And of course we accomplished the mission of capturing a wide variety of photos to use at their reception.
